Hi. My name is Melissa Wolf. Once, long ago, I couldn’t stomach the concept of ‘fitness.’
The idea of exerting any more effort than was required to physically get from A to B ensured panic in my poor, hyper-hormonal, adolescent brain. Forget sports, hikes, even long walks on the beach. If it meant moving ‘extra’ I was out.
Flash forward to the present:
Primarily, I am a DPT (Doctor of Physical Therapy) student, secondarily a pro bikini competitor and fitness enthusiast.
Wait, fitness enthusiasts? Yep. I lifted my first barbell when I was 19 and the rest was history. Sedentary potato child turned rabid gym rat. Just like that. Well, not JUST like that but you get the idea. Anything can happen!
Now as a trainer, my mission starts with a desire to facilitate you being the best you. This means achieving both health as well as sustainability. Because, what good is reaching your goal if you cant sustain it?
I have put myself through several preps so I have experience with both nutrition and training for competitions. Typically this sport isn’t considered the most sustainable. This is where my soon-to-be Doctor of Physical Therapy role comes into play: I have experience working in and out of clinics on programming rehabilitation strategies in order to facilitate patient goals and prevent future impairments. With both my experience in bodybuilding and my background in Physical Therapy I’ve developed a more wholesome approach to the world of fitness and achieving a world class physique. I look at it as aesthetic meets functional.
This is why I’m here: to help you find the joy in fitness as I did. Maybe you’re a bodybuilder, a fitness enthusiast trying to take the next step forward or maybe you hate to move and don’t know how to start. I’ve been all three, so let’s do this together!
Melissa is very knowledgeable and makes me feel super comfortable in the gym where I didn’t always before. She makes learning new workouts really fun and is a great motivator. – Olivia
