Not Your Grandma’s Broccoli Salad

Today I’m headed to a baby shower for one my favorite girls in the world. I was asked to bring a broccoli salad and immediately thought of grandma’s amazing broccoli salad, but when I looked at how much white sugar was added to the dressing I was shocked. I experimented a little with the dressing and after giving it a few taste tests I think I finally got it right! If you are heading to a bbq, party, shower, etc. this recipe is so easy and, in my opinion, a staple for get togethers! I (shockingly) chopped everything a day prior since I knew we were going to be tailgating and watching ASU win on Saturday (GO ASU)!  Make sure if you prep in advance to bag each ingredient that you chop separately. Hope everyone’s having a great weekend!

Salad

  • 4 heads organic broccoli florets chopped
  • 1/2 cup sunflower seeds
  • 1/2 cup minced red onion
  • 10 slices thick bacon (hormone/nitrate free) chopped
  • 1/4 cup brown raisins
  • 1/4 golden raisins

Dressing

  • 1 TB Bragg apple cider vinegar
  • 2TB raw organic honey
  • 1/2 cup avocado mayo
  • 2t grey poupon
  • S&P to taste
